アッカド語楔形文字文書『バビロン天文日誌』を主要史料として用い、旧約聖書やその続編、ギリシア語やラテン語で書かれた叙述史料や碑文史料・羊皮紙文書なども用いながら、ヘレニズム時代における王権と都市バビロンとの関係、天文学や占星術の発展について研究している。
