1964年にジュネーブで産声をあげた国際バカロレア(IB)の理念の核にあるのは「より良いより平和な世界の構築」であり、これは関西学院大学のミッションステートメントである「Mastery for Service を体現する世界市民の育成」と本質を同じくするものです。予測不可能な時代と言われる２１世紀において、奉仕の精神を持って他者と自身の幸福を実現するスキルと能力を育てる教育であるIBプログラムに強い関心を持っています。また、日本では学習指導要領の改訂が進んでおり、教育改革の議論も活発ですが、日本の教育改革の方向性や、IBプログラムとの関係性にも関心を持っています。これらについて学生の皆さんと意見を交わし研究を進めることができることを楽しみにしています。
コロナ禍を経験する今、この言葉が一層深く胸に染みます。「教育は、世界を変えるために使うことができる最強の武器である（ネルソン・マンデラ）」
