民法における「求償制度」を統一的な視点から構築することを目的として、ドイツでの求償不当利得論を一つの分析視角に据えつつ、各求償場面での求償権の実質的根拠および機能に関する研究を行ってきた。さらに近時は、ドイツにおける免責請求権論に興味を有し、比較法的な研究を進めている。
