私は、企業や家計の行動を定式化した経済モデルによる理論分析、特に企業行動を詳細に検討する産業組織論のツールを使った研究をしています。研究室では、このツールを主に2つのテーマに応用しています。第1のテーマは、経済発展の源泉である技術革新（イノベーション）と経済構造の関係を明らかにすることです。具体的には、技術革新がその度合いや種類によって、市場構造にいかに影響し、どのような利潤を企業にもたらすかを研究しています。第2のテーマは、限りある資源をリサイクルなどによって有効に利用する循環型社会を、どのように形成すればよいかを明らかにすることです。特に、企業が生産のみならずその製品の廃棄に至るまでの責任を負うという拡大生産者責任が、循環型社会形成にどのように資するのか、その経済的意義を研究しています。
