国際協力機構（JICA）において、30余年にわたり、基礎教育分野を中心に国際協力事業に従事。
国内では通算約10年に渡り人間開発部・研究所（国際協力専門員）に勤務し、教育分野の協力の企画立案・実践の他、協力方針の策定、事業研究、事業評価などの業務に従事。また、1998年から2001年にはインドネシア教育省に基礎教育アドバイザーとして勤務し、アジア通貨危機後の経済状況下での適切な教育政策の実施にかかる提言を行った。2016年から18年には大震災後のネパールにて、教育分野を含む震災復興事業をJICA事務所長として推進した。
この他、人事部人事課長等として勤務した4年間には、新卒採用や採用後の職員研修の責任者として、組織内の人的資源開発・マネジメントに尽力。
こうしたこれまでの経験を活かしながら、持続可能な開発（SDGs）や多文化共生について、共に考え、学生の皆が世界市民として羽ばたいていくことを支援していきたい。
