Teaching and Research Fields
コンピュータを用いて分子レベルの観点から実際の現象に対する計算解析を行っている。量子化学の理論を用いる事で、原子や分子の動きや反応といった肉眼では見えない世界もコンピュータ上で再現する事ができる。さらに熱統計力学を発展させて扱うことで、完全に理論だけに基づいて実際のスケールや時間に対応した反応プロセスを再現する事にも挑戦している。具体的な研究対象としてはエネファームとして近年実用化されつつある燃料電池電極や、その燃料として注目されている水素の製造触媒における現象解明、理論的設計に取り組んでいる。また、理工学部ではゼミ形式で大学での勉強の仕方を学ぶ「先進エネルギーナノ工学入門」や、ミクロな視点から熱力学を理解する「統計熱力学」、ミクロな観点から工業的な反応プロセスの設計法を理解する「プロセス設計ナノ工学」などの科目を担当する予定である。
