教育：学生実験における物理学実験を担当。卒業研究に入る前段階の基礎的な実験を行い、個々の研究活動の導入とする。また、講義授業の中で実際に教卓で実験を行う講義実験科目も担当。
研究：タンパク質はアミノ酸が連なった1本の鎖状高分子である。生理条件下では自発的にタンパク質は折りたたみ、独自の立体構造を形成する。タンパク質は立体構造を形成して初めて機能を有するが、どのように折りたたむのか解明されていない。この「タンパク質の折りたたみ問題　”Folding Problem”」について多角的に研究を行っている。
教育研究とも専門知識を掘り下げることはもちろんであるが、それ以上に幅広い視野を持って教育研究を遂行することが重要と考えている。一見、関係ないような他分野のようなことでも無駄なことはなく、すべて関連があることを自ら実践していく。
