私の研究テーマは、主に最適課税問題、租税競争、貿易政策、家族の経済学です。最近は、家族の経済学に特に関心をもっています。最適課税理論においては、主に開放経済における最適な間接税構造を明らかにしてきました。現在は、家族の問題を最適課税理論の枠組みに取り入れて分析をしています。例えば、夫婦間の交渉力を考慮した最適所得税構造や子供の数を内生化し、子育てにおいて非協力的な夫婦に対する所得税と子育て支援に関する研究を行なっています。租税競争問題においては、主に資本課税の課税方法に関する分析を行なってきました。現在は、企業の立地選択を考慮した租税競争問題を分析しています。
