私は、英米法、すなわちイギリス、アメリカ、カナダなどの法を専門としています。その中でも特に、信託法と契約法について研究しています。ある人が、一定の目的のために他人に財産を託することを信託といいますが、財産を託された受託者はどのような義務を負うのか、義務に違反して財産に損害を与えてしまった場合に、どのような責任を負うのかなどの点について、英米の信託法と我が国の法を比較検討しています。財産管理の一つの形態として、高齢者や障害者のために、資金調達のために、そして公益のために、信託を活用できる場面は多く、この法のあり方に関心を持っています。
