人間は、誰しも生得的（遺伝的）に有している言語の構造に関する普遍的能力を、どのように働かせることで言語を生成し理解しているのでしょうか？この疑問に対して、多様な言語の構造を分析し共通点を見出すことで、言語能力の構成を解明し、その能力の行使のメカニズムを探る、というリサーチプログラム（ミニマリスト・プログラム）に基づく研究を行っています。
