アメリカ研究における学際研究の手法を現代的なテーマに広く用いて、開発教育、グローバル教育、人権教育、ボランティア学などの分野に応用しながら、教育の課題を考えています。地球的視野とともに地域を考え、「世界・アジア・日本・わたし」の中に存在する南北構造を理解し、つながりと関係性の中で本来の人間性を回復する営みとしての教育の姿を学生とともに探究したいと願っています。その中で“学校”の社会的機能と今後の可能性を批判的に研究するとともに、教育・保育従事者の資質について新しい提案を試みたいと考えています。国内外でのフィールドワークや体験学習を通して、さまざまな現場からの学びを大切にしています。
