伝統的な管理会計の枠組みを超えて、戦略的マネジメントに指向した「戦略管理会計」について研究を進めている。戦略計画のための会計、競争優位のための会計、戦略的原価分析、価値連鎖分析、戦略的コスト・マネジメント、ビジネス・プロセス・マネジメントなど、新しい研究テーマに取り組むとともに、予算管理を中心とした「マネジメント・コントロールのための会計」についても、国際的な視点を重視して、比較文化論的なアプローチから研究している。
