回帰分析における線形回帰モデルの「多重共線性」と呼ばれる問題に対して縮小推定量を用いた回帰係数の推定問題を理論・実証の両面から研究している。また、最近は「非線形回帰」、「統計的学習理論」、「情報可視化・データ可視化」に対しても興味がある。
