　私の主な研究内容は、子どもが造形活動の中で、どのような内的（心的）体験をしているのかを調査し、教育・保育現場における子どもの造形活動の意味を再考察することです。ここでいう造形活動とは、単にモノを作ったり絵を描いたりするといったイメージ活動のことだけでなく、モノや環境に探索的、感覚的に関わる活動も含めます。したがって赤ちゃんがモノを見たり触ったりする活動も造形的活動の芽生えとして捉えています。幼児期、児童期になると子どもたちは何かを作る、描く活動によって自己表現を行いますが、この活動過程で子どもは時間を忘れて夢中になり、何か自分を更新するような大事な体験をしているようです。「たのしい」「もっとやりたい」という子どもたちのつぶやきの背後にある心情やその根拠を科学的な目で考察し、造形活動、美術表現の意味を研究しています。
　また、教育・保育現場で子どもが夢中になるような造形活動の展開を提案するために、子どもの発達年齢にあった素材研究、教材研究を様々な角度から行っています。

    Title:こどもの協同的な造形活動に対する混合的アプローチによる質的分析
    Project summary:質的分析の混合的なアプローチの方法を確立することにより，幼児～児童期のこども間の自然発生的な相互作用と，作品の制作過程との関係性を質的に明らかにする。分析対象としては，こどもが協同的に行う造形活動データについて，国内外で行う調査によって収集したものを扱っていく。特に，双方向性の関わり合いの中でイメージがいかに共有化され，創造的な行為へ移るのか，子どもの具体的な姿から相互作用の質について迫るため，双方向的かかわりの基本形であるペアでの造形活動に着目する。活動データについて，発達的差異と文化的差異の両側面から　　多重的に比較することにより，協同的な造形活動におけるこどもの特徴的な行動を捉えていく。
