Teaching and Research Fields
Currently, I'm focusing on how learners use formulaic language to support their academic writing. I'm looking at this using a corpus of student academic writing to see how formulaic language use changes over the course of their studies. I'm additionally interested in the methods of examining learner corpora and in ways to change traditional methods to better reflect and respect the differences in second language writing and native speaker writing. I continue to be interested in self-access learning especially as it pertains to academic writing.
