1. これまで、Navier-Sokes方程式等の偏微分方程式の数値解析手法や、その応用対象である内燃機関の研究を行ってきました。Navier-Sokes方程式に限らず、偏微分方程式は、方程式の表現や、数値的近似法を適当に選ぶことで、現象の本質が見えやすくなることあります。そう言った理由から、これまで、Scaling関数で、Navier-Stkes方程式の解を構成/近似して解く等の手法を研究してきましたが、今後は同様の手法の物性物理への適用等を模索して行きたいと思っています。また、Scaling関数やWaveletが持つ、局所性や多重解像度解析性、完全性・直交性を、統計力学的手法などと結びつければ、解の局所的且つ統計的性質に対する数値解法が見い出せるのではないかと、期待しています。
2. 東南・南アジアの発展過程と地域文化の関連に興味を持ち、十数年間にわたって、各国に在住してきました。この期間に得られた知識や経験を活かした教育ができればと思っています。特に、企業のグローバル化が進む昨今、卒業生のグローバルな活躍の助けや起爆剤となることができればと思っております。
