私たちの研究室では、有機合成化学を基盤に、ユニークな構造を持つ三次元π電子系化合物を設計・合成し、次世代の高機能性材料開発を目指します。

π電子系化合物は、分子の構造に依存した光物性や電子物性等の魅力的な機能を持ちます。それらの機能は、分子の三次元的な配列(直線、ジグザグ、らせん等)や異方的な動き(回転、折れ曲がり、羽ばたき等)を制御することで驚くほど変化します。分子が示す無限の可能性のある機能を、有機化学の基礎知識と量子化学計算を用いて予測・設計し、小分子から高分子の材料を創出します。

合成した材料はディスプレイ等の有機 EL 素子や有機半導体、高機能性樹脂等に応用される可能性があるため、これらの研究はサイエンスの基盤として重要な位置にあります。

当研究室では、卒業研究・大学院の研究を通して、新規有機化合物の合成・分析に加え、高度な理論化学計算の習得・開拓ができるため、社会に役立つ高機能性材料を創出するための最先端の知識と技術を身につけることができます。
