I have been a language teacher in the Kansai area since 2006. During that time, I have enjoyed teaching a variety of subjects including Global Studies, Media Studies, TOEFL and TOEIC. My research to date has centered on the benefits of a practical approach to language teaching involving project work and task-based instruction. I am currently examining the effectiveness of using culturally familiar materials in the classroom and using spaced repetition systems (SRS) for studying for the TOEIC test.
