私は、災害・環境社会学を専門にしています。といっても、即座にメディアとか社会心理学などに較べると、面白くない！と思ったでしょう。少し待ってください。私は3.11の震災の中でも、幽霊や夢を扱っています。ん？災害で仮設や避難などのコミュニティを扱うのは分かるけど、幽霊や夢を扱うのはどうしてか。災害でタクシーの幽霊現象といえば、少しはピンと来るかもしれません。YAHOO! やNetflixでも取り上げられたので、1000万人は知っている計算です。災害を死者との関係性のあり方に変換した時、今までの社会学で扱うような災害の考え方は古いのです。
「人は死んだらどこにいくのだろう？」ということを考えることは、決して災害に限った問いではなく、普遍的にみなさんも抱く考えです。ここが重要ですが、災害や環境を扱うことは、単に周辺の学問ではなく、“根源的な”しかも“面白い”社会学となるのです。
