私の専門は認知心理学です。認知とは，生体が情報を収集・処理する活動を指す言葉です。すなわち認知心理学では，情報を収集するために必要となる知覚や注意，手に入れた情報を頭に留めておくための処理である記憶，それらの情報を基に自身の行動を想像・計画・決定する処理である思考や意思決定など，頭の中で行われるあらゆる心の働きや現象が研究対象となっています。そのような認知活動はそれぞれ個別に行われているわけではありません。何に注意を向けるかで記憶する内容が変わり，記憶した内容に応じて思考や意思決定内容も変わります。注意を向ける対象も人によって違うこともあるでしょう。私の研究室では，人間の記憶や思考，意思決定など，相互に絡み合った様々な認知活動の背景に，どのような仕組みや個人差が存在しているのかについて研究を行っています。
