　人は日常の中でさまざまなものを観察しています。この「観察する」という行為から、人は多くの気づきを得ています。さらに、観察した世界を他者と共有することで、新たな角度から世界を認識し直すこともできます。
私は、現職日本語教師の専門性開発のあり方について研究しています。なかでも、教師が授業を観察しあってふりかえる「授業観察」という活動と、それを取り入れている「日本語学校」という学校組織に着目しています。授業観察を通した教師の気づきや、気づきを共有する中で教師間の協働がどのように起きているかを分析・考察して、専門性開発のあり方や学校組織のあり方をどう実りあるものにしていけるかについて探究しています。また、「質的研究」でこれまで研究を行っており、日本語教育学を含む学術研究の今後の発展・拡張に向けて質的研究がどのような可能性を持ちうるのかについても関心を持っています。
