Research Outline
My primary research focuses on the acquisition of second language speech sounds. In the theoretical domain, I am interested in how learners perceive and lexically encode the sounds of a second language. In the practical domain, I am interested in the role of pronunciation instruction in the classroom and in techniques that can be used to increase its effectiveness.
