光は、分子との間に様々な相互作用(吸収、発光、散乱)を起こします。これら多様な相互作用は、光の強度や波長(色)、そして位相といった様々な情報の変化から検出でき、得られた情報を適切に解釈することで、分子の種類や状態を理解することができます。また、光を用いた計測は低侵襲である(分子を壊しにくい)ため、生体試料といった繊細な観察対象にも広く利用されます。私は、光計測の高感度化を軸として、既存技術の高速化、高解像度化、そして抽出可能な情報量の拡張を実現し、科学および産業への貢献を目指します。
