最終的に財を購入・消費する「人」「消費者」の行動やそのメカニズムに焦点をあて、社会システムや公共政策をどう設計すべきか、主に実証分析を通して研究しています。これまでに、食品表示と消費者教育、再生可能エネルギーと原子力発電に対する消費者選好、節電ナッジの効果検証、環境価値観の国際比較などのトピックで、アンケート調査やフィールド実験をしてきました。課題に特化したミクロデータを自分で作り、個人や社会の特徴と政策効果・価値観とのつながりを直接分析することで、社会問題の背景や政策課題を考察することが多いです。
特に、製品表示やナッジなどの「情報を用いた政策介入」に関心を持っており、そのような情報を公共政策の一手段としてどのように位置づけて評価し、政策選択やポリシーミックスに活用していくべきかを経済学的に考えています。
