所属学部において開講されている、主に1, 2年次を履修対象とした実習科目(臨海実習、生命科学入門実験、生命分子・生化学実験、細胞・組織学実験)の実習補助業務を通年で担当しています。私はこれまでに、発酵食品の中でも食酢の製造に用いられる醸造微生物である、酢酸菌を主な研究対象として、代謝改変技術を用いた有用菌株の育種とその応用や、酢酸菌固有の特殊な生存戦略の仕組みを分子レベルで解明することを目標に研究を行ってきました。これまでの経験やこれからの学びを活かし、履修者が生命科学分野における幅広い実験技術、器具・機器の取り扱い方法、実験結果を正しく評価・考察する能力などを培う実習環境を提供できるように、実習室の維持管理に努めます。また、実践的な実習経験を通して、履修者それぞれが当該分野や実習において得られた結果に対して興味を持ち、自分自身で考えながら他者と協力して物事を進める能力といった、研究活動において必要不可欠な基礎能力を身に着けられるような実習運営を心掛けていきたいと思っています。
