私は烏龍茶の原産地で知られる福建省の武夷山（ぶいさん）のふもとで生まれ育ち、幼い頃から中国の茶文化に強い関心がありました。武夷山ではかつて、中国南宋時代の儒学者である朱熹（しゅき）がその一帯の文化に深い影響を与えましたが、中国の茶道・お茶の精神思想の継承は元の時代に途絶え、現代の中国茶文化はそうしたお茶の精神が失われたままとなっています。こうした背景を踏まえ、私は朱熹と烏龍茶の前身である武夷茶の関連性および朱熹による武夷茶文化への寄与について研究を行なってきました。
