進化ゲーム理論が私の現在の研究分野です。ゲーム理論は、社会・システムの中で個々の主体・端末が独立した意思決定で行動し、しかし相互依存的な環境で影響しあう様を、定式化し分析する理論です。進化というのは、この主体たちが学習や生存淘汰を通じてお互いに徐々に行動を変化させていくプロセス（適応動学）に注目します。経済学の中では「均衡」概念の基盤として、また生物学ではまさに進化の理論として、そして今日では大規模システムの設計・制御の基礎理論として工学にも浸透しつつあります。

私はこれまで経済学での貢献として数理的な一般理論の構築に取り組んできました。最近ではさらにシミュレーションによって複雑な社会モデルへの応用にも取り組んでいます。本学でのゼミにおいても、そのような最近の関心を反映させて、シミュレーションやその結果のデータ分析をゴールとしてプログラミングとゲーム理論的なモデリングの手法を教える予定です。
