私の研究分野は英語学と英語教育です。英語学ではWorld Englishes（世界諸英語）を主な分野としていて、世界に広まった英語には各地で様々な特徴があるという考えにもとづき、特にアジアの英語特徴について、コーパスを用いて分析しています。また、日本のポピュラーカルチャーにおける英語使用の特徴を明らかにするために、音楽や雑誌や漫画における英語使用の分析も行っています。英語教育では、英語だけではなく内容も一緒に学習するという、内容言語統合型学習のアプローチをとる英語クラスにおいて、どのようなコミュニケーション活動が効果的であるか、実践的な研究を行っています。特に、短い動画を作成するアクティビティが、英語学習・内容学習にどれだけ効果があるか分析を行ってきました。また、World Englishesと英語教育の接点にも関心をもっています。
