Teaching and Research Fields
The main focus of my approach is to create a space where learners feel at ease to communicate with their peers and present their ideas in small groups as they progress through English acquisition. Task-based Lessons utilize input delivered by a range of international speakers, in line with principles of English as a Lingua Franca. Student-centered tasks and activities are designed to reduce anxiety, improve comradery, and allow learners to discover and develop their identity as English speakers. How students of English perceive themselves in relation to their native language-speaking identity is one of my areas of research.

I am also interested in conducting research into how online language learning tasks influence learner autonomy and motivation to learn a second language beyond the classroom environment. In particular, my research focuses on learner responses and feedback about their experiences of using various LMS applications in conjunction with the course textbooks.
