有機化学をベースとして材料科学・生命科学の発展に貢献することを目指して、有用分子の革新的な合成法の開拓と新しい機能性材料の創製を研究の柱としています。中でも、π共役系有機化合物の実用的合成法の開発に重点を置いています。π共役系有機分子は、材料科学・生命科学における重要な物質群ですが、これを構成する芳香環・複素環化合物の合成には制限があり、新しい物質を創製する機会が大きく阻まれています。これは、望みのものを望みの場所に、望みのタイミングで導入させる合成手法が欠如し、合成化学によって合成できる物質が未だに限られているからです。したがって、新しい物性や機能の宝庫であるπ共役系分子をナノ領域のレベルまで精密に合成できる新しい合成方法論の開拓が望まれています。

  • We developed a glycoprotein that moves between organs in the mice body by chemical reactions within the living mice. We confirmed that the chemical reaction on this glycoprotein proceeds not only in the flask but also in the cellular system and in the living animal, proving organ-to-organ transfer of this glycoprotein in the mice.
