I am interested in looking to teaching practices that help reduce student and teacher stress and anxiety. Social and emotional learning (SEL) looks into how social practices of different cultures and how emotions can affect the learning environment of any classroom. Using strategies from SEL and specifically looking at the role of managing emotions in teaching and learning can lead, I believe, to better teaching practices and learning outcomes.
