野外教育（キャンプなどの野外体験を通した教育）を専門とし、体験教育とそのリスクマネジメントを主に研究しています。また、近年はさらに情報科学や芸術の視点を加え、野外教育の更なる価値を模索しています。現代社会はAIをはじめとするテクノロジーの発展が著しく、未来を考えるとワクワクしますが、その一方で、その時代を生きる人間の教育も重要な課題だと考えています。アインシュタインは「何かを学ぶためには、自分で体験する以上に良い方法はない」と述べています。その意味では、「野外教育」はこれからの教育において大きな役割を果たすものと考えています。

    Title:青少年自然体験活動リーダーのリスク知覚能力の評価とリスクマネジメント能力向上トレーニングの開発に向けての研究
    Project summary:子どもたちの自然体験活動量の少なさが指摘されてから久しいが、親世代の自然体験量が少ない現状からすれば、その提供の場は、キャンプなどの自然体験活動に期待せざるを得ません。自然体験活動では、スタッフの多くには大学生をはじめとする青年リーダーが配置されており、キャンプ自体の質や安全性を大きく左右する存在となっています。そのため、大学生に代表される青年リーダーのリスクマネジメント能力の向上は安全で質の高い自然体験活動を提供するためには必要不可欠です。しかしながら、現場でのトレーニングは、「ＫＹＴ（危険予知）トレーニング」「救急法講習会」が行われる程度で、いずれも、本格的なリスクマネジメント能力の獲得には至っていません。そこで、本研究では、青年リーダーのリスクマネジメント能力として、ハザード知覚能力、リスク知覚能力を評価し、さらに、青年リーダーのリスクマネジメント能力を向上させるためのプログラムを開発したいと考えています。
