Profile
　沖縄の民俗宗教・シャーマニズム研究から出発し、都市伝説の日韓比較研究、妖怪・占い文化の博物館民俗学、在日コリアンや引揚者が生み出したヴァナキュラー文化の研究、喫茶店モーニング文化の都市民俗学的研究、関西私鉄文化研究などを経て、近年は、世界民俗学史をふまえた民俗学理論の研究、とくに、民俗学を国際的・学際的な「ヴァナキュラー文化研究」として再編成する議論を展開しています。
　博士後期課程研究指導教授として担当する大学院教育では、民俗学／ヴァナキュラー文化研究の全領域を扱っており、古典的な民俗学から現代民俗学まで、日本民俗学から中国民俗学・韓国民俗学などアジアの民俗学まで、また、社会伝承、生業伝承、交通・交易、儀礼、祝祭、宗教、口承文芸、芸能、物質文化、文化遺産、博物館など、民俗学研究のすべてのジャンルについて、研究指導を行なっています。

    Title:対覇権主義的学問ネットワークとしての「世界民俗学」構築へ向けた基盤的調査研究
    Project summary:　本研究は、アメリカ・イギリス・フランスが頂点として君臨する「知の覇権主義的構造」とは異質の、世界中のすべての地域の民俗学が対等な関係で連携、協働することを理想とした「対覇権主義的（counter-hegemonic）な学問ネットワークとしての『世界民俗学』」を構築することを目的とする。
    　そのための方法として、「知の覇権主義」とは異なる次元で個性的な民俗学が展開されている中国、韓国、台湾、インド、エストニア、ラトヴィア、リトアニア、アイルランド、ブラジルを対象に、それぞれの民俗学の特性とそれをふまえた世界連携の可能性について、実態調査と共同討議を実施する。
