Teaching and Research Fields
専攻は映画学、表象文化論、アメリカ研究。近年は、アメリカ映画の性／政治学が研究のターゲットである。具体的には、大戦期の女性映画やノワール、ヴェトナム期のニューシネマ、9.11以後のグローバル・シネマ等、映画と性、映画と政治学との交点を探っている。 映画とは何か。この問いに対し、我々は様々な答えを用意することができるだろう。スクリーンには複数の欲望が隠蔽／開示(イン・アウト)され、種々のイデオロギーが刻印されているからだ。映画は如何に社会や政治を映し出すのか。或いは、如何なる歴史を引き受け、何を語り、伝えるのか。映画を見るという個人の「感受性(センシビリティ)」を社会への「応答性／責任(リスポンシビリティ)」へと開くこと。審美性の裏側に潜む「政治性」を見ること。この困難な問いに対し、アメリカ映画に軸足を置きながら考察を続けている。
