Title:Neural mechanisms for flexible navigation to adapt a change in an environment
Project summary:本研究の目的は，ルート知識の更新プロセスに関わる神経メカニズムを明らかにすることである．ラットを対象として，目的地点まで移動するナビゲーション行動を，環境の変化に応じて更新することを要求する状況を設定する．学習初期には環境内を探索する行動が出現するが，探索を通して目的地へ到達することを何度も繰り返すという学習の進行に伴って，しだいにラットが取るルートは最短ルートに最適化されていく．また，ルートが学習された後に，環境の構成を変更することで，環境の変化に対してルート選択を適応させていくプロセスについて検討する．
本年度は，新たに開発した格子状迷路を用いた実験を実施した．この迷路では，エリア内に打たれた杭に壁となるプレートを差し込む形で走路を構成するようになっており，任意のルートを設定することができる．迷路の四隅に設置したボックスの一つをスタート地点，別の一つのボックスをゴール地点とし，ラットには，ゴールまでのナビゲーション課題を課した．ゴールボックス内には報酬となるペレットエサを置いた．実験の結果，ラットが速やかにゴールまでのナビゲーションを学習することが確認できた．これまでに用いていた迷路では，5×5の碁盤の目状の走路に壁を刺し入れることでルートを設定する形になっていたが，今回導入した新たな装置では10×10の走路が設定できるようになっており，より物理的には複雑になっていたが，設定したルートによっては，ラットはかなり早くルートの学習ができることが分かった．
