Research Outline
Trained as an architect and urban planner, Prof. Hari Srinivas is currently Professor of Environmental Policy at the Graduate School of Policy Studies, Kwansei Gakuin University in Kobe, Japan. Before taking up his current post, he was Programme Officer for 10 years at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Programme Associate for eight years at the United Nations University (UNU) in Tokyo. He also served as a faculty member at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Dept. of Social Engineering.

He has a Masters degree in Urban Development and Management (1991) from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok Thailand, and a Ph.D. (1996) from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan.

In 2015, he was appointed as a Distinguished Adjunct Professor of the Asian Institute of Technology
