Profile
都市社会学の中心的テーマとなってきた「〈都市的なるもの〉とはいったい何なのか」という問題を、社会調査等の実証的手法で研究している。最近の主たる研究は、住民の日常生活行動(特に住居実態・通勤・買い物行動・ライフスタイル等)の調査研究の積み重ねによって、グローバル社会、ポスト都市化時代に通用する都市理論を再構築することである。現在具体的に取り組んでいる研究としては、「ヨーロッパ都市とはいかなるものか」「海外で活躍する関学同窓生ネットワークに関する学際的研究」「ベルギーにおける日本人ネットワークの都市社会学的考察」および、「危機的調査環境下における新しい社会調査手法の構築」等である。
