　アジアと日本の関係や、アジアの近代化の問題に関心をもったことから開発研究に引き寄せられ、また自身の社会人経験からジェンダーの課題に気づくことになりました。国連での勤務を通じ、特に第4回世界女性会議（北京会議）の準備過程に携わったことにより、ジェンダー課題をどのように立法を含む各国の政策課題とし、制度と施策を通じて課題を解決していくかについて経験を積むことができました。国連において「人権の主流化」が進み始めた時期でもあり、それらに導かれ、「ジェンダーと開発」「開発における人権アプローチ（human rights-based approach to development）の発展と実践」「国際人権規範の国内実施」「グローバル化と人権」等の分野で研究を進めてきました。
　SDGs（持続可能な開発目標）が掲げる「誰一人取り残さない」という最重要理念は人権目標そのものですが、経済・社会・環境の諸課題に人権が統合されたこと自体が国際社会の大きな変容です。国際的な規範設定を含む政策レベルと、地域の市民社会を含む実践レベルの両方の視点から、「続く社会」を創造するための課題と戦略を考察していきたいと思っています。
